Starting 2018 fresh.

January 01, 2018

I'm not really a 'New year new me' kinda girl, but seeing people bash others for it on Twitter makes me want to give it a go. I think it's a great idea. Yes, it's just another day, but it is a new year, and it is the perfect time to implement some well needed changes in to my life.

What are the major changes I want to make?

I want to read more.

I have 9 books which I have bought, or people have bought me through-out the year, so I want to get started. I'm in love with the Game of Thrones TV series. I started the books and they're even better. I have five / six of them left to read so that's a challenge on my hands. Also I have the book set of Divergent that my friend bought me for Christmas, they look amazing, I can't wait to lose myself in them.

Really, I want to finish Game of Thrones first, but I have to change my mindset. I enjoy reading the series, however I know the new season on TV is out on January/February 2019 and I'm worried I won't read them by then, but I love the first book, and the second so I am not looking at it as a 'rush' or a 'challenge' I just want to enjoy reading the books.

This year I want to make sure I have enough time to read, and stop rushing around / worry about wasting time.

Blog to my hearts content.

I go in and out of blogging purely due to the argument in my head that I spend too much time on social media, and I should enjoy life more, I think I just need to find the right balance, along with not sharing my whole life online.

I am going to get back on building my social media accounts, and work really hard to create good blog content - no more rushed, shitty posts. I have done those in the past and no-one wants to read them. I want to treat this blog like a diary for me, but also I want it to grow, and people to be inspired / helped by what I write.

Get in to the healthy lifestyle, and build muscle.

Oh god, here we go. Honestly this time I'll do it.

Since turning 21 the weight has just piled on. I'm unhappy with my body, and I'm done with it. I want to be the me that I'm happy with. I struggle with anxiety so going out the house on the weekends is a challenge, so you can imagine what I've built up in my head about the gym. I can't let my anxiety hold me in this body that I am not happy with, so I will do it, and I will push myself.

I want to loose weight overall, but my main goal is to gain muscle and being a stronger, fitter me.

I'm going to a therapist / group.

There are some issues I struggle with, they're private and I don't want to disclose what. I've realised over the past couple of weeks / days that I need help. Trying to forget about things isn't cutting it, and my daily life it starting to be affected. I haven't done it yet, but in this year I want to go to a support group, I don't know if it'll help, but it's a step in the right direction for me.

Maintain friendships.

I find it quite hard to maintain friendships, I've never had a huge group of friends, only the types I see everyday. Over the past few years I've made some really good friends, but we all work different jobs, we have different lives, and we enjoy different things, so we have to make a lot of effort to stay in touch. I find it so hard, but at the same time I really appreciate those friends, and I want to make sure we're stilling having fun at the end of 2018.

I also want to make some minor changes, just things I want to start / stop :

- Remove caffeine from my life, no more coke, decaf coffee etc

- Minimal fizzy drinks

- Drink a hell of a lot more water daily

- Stop cutting my own hair

- Grow out the bleach from my hair, so no more permanent dyes!

- No more dairy. I can't eat it, so I really need to stop, my body will thank me

- Limit myself on Sims 4 (I get too addicted)

- Continue no alcohol (I'll be t-total for 1 month on the 8th of Jan)

- Paint my nails more!

- Have a lot more pamper days, and relaxing bathes

I'm exciting for what/ who comes in to my life this year!
